Adam Bartholomew is excited for the opportunity to serve the Lord as the new Athletic Director at Crossroads Christian High School. Adam graduated from Romeo High School in Romeo, Michigan in 1985, and furthered his education at Azusa Pacific University, graduating in 1990 with a BA in Physical Education and a minor in Coaching. From 1986 through 1994, Adam held a variety of coaching positions, including Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Girls Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach, Head Girls Varsity Track and Field Coach, and Assistant JV Boys Football Coach at Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park. In 1994, Adam left Sierra Vista and took the positions of Head Varsity Girls Volleyball and Basketball Coach, and Assistant Varsity Softball Coach at Western Christian High School in Covina, while teaching PE full time at Foothill Christian School in Glendora. In 1996, Adam became the Athletic Director and PE Teacher at Western Christian, and served in this capacity through 2008.
During Adams tenure as Western Christian Athletic Director from 1996-2008, 32 league championships were won collectively by the football, cross country, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, and volleyball teams. Serving as the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach, Adam proudly helped the team and school win the first CIF Championship Title in softball in 1996, and as the Head Varsity Coach, took his team to the CIF Finals in 2002. As the Head Girls Basketball Coach, Adam took his team to the CIF Finals in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999, leading his team to win the CIF Championship Title in 1997. As the Head Girls Volleyball Coach, Adam took his team to their first playoff appearance for the sport in 1996, and as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach in 2004 he helped his wife Dawn capture the CIF Title. In recognition of his coaching successes, Adam was named Coach of the Year for Girls Basketball by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and the Los Angeles Times in 1996, Coach of the Year for Girls Softball by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune in 2002, and was awarded CIF Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 1997.
More importantly than these championships and awards, Adam has been blessed to have the opportunity to coach and teach young men and women in the game of life. While teaching discipline, service, and striving for athletic excellence, Adam has challenged his students and players to develop a real and personal relationship with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Helping many former students and players grow in their Christian faith has been the greatest joy, far surpassing any athletic victory that might have been accomplished.
Adam has been married for 16 years to his wife Dawn, and they reside in Upland with their two children Jenna and Bryan.
